On route from Arendal to the Isle of Man, this vessel stranded on the North end of Stroma in dense fog on 9 April 1830. All crew were saved with difficulty.
On the previous evening the the Wick (or possibly Leith), schooner, Edina, had gone ashore on the south-west corner of Stroma and on the same day as the Aesceli and Anna the Thetis ran aground on the south side of the island. Both their crews were also saved with difficulty.
