This Glasgow, (possibly Dundee), steamer on a voyage from the Clyde to Copenhagen with a cargo of coal, ran ashore at Broad Geo on the west side of Stroma and became a total wreck. No lives were lost and the wreck was subsequently bought by Stroma fishermen. She was under the command of Capt. Craig and was owned by John P. Bruce.
Built in 1881 by A. Stephen & Sons, the North Sea was iron built, 230' x 30.9' x 15.9', (69m long by 9m wide). Her compound engines delivered 137 nhp and she was 1076 gross tons.
