The Lord Suffield, under Captain Carlill (Carlisle?), en-route from Hull to Quebec, the Campion, of Whitby and the Sarah of Glasgow, under the command of Captain Adamson, all ran ashore at the Ness of Quoys near Huna. The Lord Suffield became a complete wreck although the other vessels appear to have got off.
Later, the famous Caithness Engineer and wreck-raiser, James Bremner, floated the wreck of the Lord Suffield on a raft made from logs and took her to his yard in Wick, where the Lord Suffield was completely re-built.
