Hercules

18 July 1896

wrecks
This homeward bound Grimsby steam trawler became a total wreck at Langaton Point, Stroma.  The crew were saved by local boats.

Another report claims that she stranded at the North end of Stroma, then sank three miles south of Duncansby Head while in ballast and under the command of Captain Wilson.

The Hercules was built of steel in 1893. She was 104’ long, had a beam of 20’ and was 168 gross registered tons.
