Henry

2 September 1858

wrecks
The schooner, Henry, of Lossiemouth, which had been at anchor in Wick Bay, raised her anchor and tried to beat out of the bay when a southerly gale suddenly sprang up.  The boat missed stays and drove ashore on the north side of the bay.  Mr James Budge, a fish curer, launched a small boat and rescued two men, the remaining members of the crew getting ashore in their own boat.  A replacement Wick lifeboat was launched for the first time, but reached the wreck just as the two men were being rescued by Mr Budge.
