The Guide Me was built of wood in 1901 by Forbes and Birnie of Peterhead for G. Murray go Lossiemouth and W.H. Leask, Peterhead. She was registered at Peterhead PD 415, (she was later re-registered in 1922 as PD 469).
She was fitted with a 16 inch compound engine made by Alex hall, Aberdeen. Her dimensions were 86.20ft, breadth 19.50ft and depth 8.20ft. She was 79 gross registered tons.
The Guide Me was requisitioned for war service from 1915-1919 and used as an anti-submarine net vessel fitted with a 6-pounder gun, she was temporarily renamed Guide Me IV.
She was wrecked during foggy conditions on Langaton Point, Stroma, whilst under the command of Captain McGhee.
