The Braconbush (A770) was sold to the Boston Deep sea and Ice Co. Ltd of Fleetwood in April 1941, along with her 'sister' Braconburn (A768). She was sunk by a mine explosion, (when in tow for Scrabster), two miles SE of Duncansby Head, apparently without loss of life as her crew of eleven were all saved. Possible position 58 40N, 02 55W.
The Braconbush was built in 1920, by Hawthorns of Leith as the Strath-Class Admiralty trawler John Conne, but was too late to be used for naval service. She was bought by the Don Fishing Co. Ltd. in November 1921 and renamed Braconbush the following month. She was 35m long by 7m wide and 204 gross tons.
